Why do we ring birds?

Black-heade Gull sighted 107 miles away from Marsh Lsne Nature Reserve on 10/08/2018 at RSPB Conwy by R. Sandham. The Gull was ringed as a chick in 2016.

Ringing birds is essential if we are to learn about how long birds live and when and where they move, questions that are vital for bird conservation.
