brewood ringers

Jim is currently our most active ringer, with a superb forestry site, and he has been trying to exploit its potential to the full. he is currently starting a colour ringing project on Tree Pipits with BTO ringers based in Thetford Forest and Sherwood Forest. A measure of his success is that Jim has ringed 55 tripits, compared to 20 in Sherwood, and 5 in Thetford!

He's also been carrying out demonstration sessions for groups such as local Scouts, and in doing so has managed to catch a superb wood Warbler and a Woodlark--also finding 5 breeding territories of the latter.

Last night we caught the first Nightjar of the season--one that we hope will be the first of many on this superb site.
