brewood ringers

On this date last year we ringed 150+ new birds at the same site. the weather today was lovely--perhaps too sunny--but no wind--yet we only caught 43 new birds including setting nets last evening. Highlights were 10 Sedge warblers, 6 Reed warblers, 8 Chiffchaff and 2 Willow warblers, both in advanced wing moult already. It was good to see our first 2 baby Wrens--so at least some adults survived the cold winter to breed.
