Wednesday was an almost perfect day-weatherwise, with light cloud cover and very gentle winds. Overall, quite a good catch although it's pretty obvious that there is not that much migration going on, (not completelet unexpected this early). 54 new birds ringed including 9 sedge warblers ( that's 63 ringed this year so far(, 9 Reed warblers and 11 Chiffchaff. The feeding station is very quiet including the small number of Tree sparrows there given there were large numbers only a few weeks ago. We finished the session with a flurry as the first mixed tit/warbler flock of the season passed through the netting area just as we were taking the last net down. Weather looking poor fir this weekend so we may have to cancel--watch the home page for details.
