Saturday 29th August
A disappointing catch this morning with only 20 new birds. It had the feel of birds having used the clear skies to move on. For example, there were no new Willow warblers caught in stark contrast to a few days ago. Chiffchaffs however were the most numerous with 9 new birds caught. The only other noteworthy birds were 2 House Martins caught using a newly placed net on the shoreline of the lake--quite often hirundines fly very over the water/shore on cold autumnal mornings as this was.
