And again yet more Redpoll!
A visit to another feeding station this morning proved very good, with 62 new birds and several retraps. Most unusual was the fact that we only caught one Blue Tit! As on Sunday the dominant species was Redpoll, with 31 new birds, 1 site retrap and 1 control ringed elsewhere. We also had 10 new Coal Tits reflecting the abundance of this species this winter; the final tally comprising 10 Great Tit, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Siskin, 1 Chaffinch, 3 Robin, 1 Treecreeper and 2 Blackbirds.
We will be trying Sunday's feeder again this coming weekend--more details after that.
