We noticed that quite a bit of the food at our feeders was now being taken so we decided to give one of the feeding stations a try this morning--and had a great time. We ringed 38 new birds and had a couple of local retraps. Among other species, we caught the first Willow warbler of the year and the second Chiffchaff, plus 10 Chaffinch, 4 Goldfinch, 11 Siskin and 3 male Yellowhammers looking resplendent in their breeding plumage.
